英語早間課堂:與老外聊春節(jié) 貼春聯(lián)（一）

The Spring Couplet, also called “couplet” or“a pair of antithetical phrases” is a special form of literature in China. The Spring Couplet is composed of two antithetical sentences on both sides of the door and a horizontal scroll, bearing an inscription, usually an auspicious phrase above the gate. The sentence pasted on the right side of the door is called the first line of the couplet and the one pasted on the left side of door is called the second line of the couplet. On the eve of the Spring Festival, every household will paste up on doors a spring couplet written on red paper to give a happy and prosperous atmosphere of the Festival. In the past, the Chinese usually wrote their own spring couplet with a brush or asked others to do for them, while nowadays, it is common for people to buy the printed spring couplets in the market. What's more , spring couplets which express good wishes is one of the house decorations. They are usually posted in pairs because even numbers are connected with good luck and auspiciousness in Chinese culture.

“春聯(lián)”也被稱為和“對聯(lián)”或者是一組對偶的句子，在中國是一種特殊的文學(xué)形式。春聯(lián)是由貼在門兩側(cè)的兩組對偶的句子組成 ，在門上面的橫批是一個吉祥的短語。貼在門右側(cè)的句子被稱為對聯(lián)的上聯(lián)，貼在門左側(cè)的句子則稱為對聯(lián)的下聯(lián)。在大年三十晚上，家家戶戶都會在門上貼上用紅紙寫的春聯(lián)，傳遞出喜慶熱鬧的節(jié)日氣氛。在過去，中國人常常用毛筆自己寫春聯(lián)或者是請別人寫春聯(lián)，而現(xiàn)在，人們普遍買市場上印刷好的春聯(lián)。此外，傳達(dá)著美好祝愿的春聯(lián)是房屋的一種裝飾。春聯(lián)通常是地張貼。因?yàn)殡p數(shù)在中國文化中是好運(yùn)和吉祥的象征。
