Last time we learned "So, tell me(something).". 意思是：來吧，說說看。If we want to express "說說看這是怎么回事。". Then how should we put it. Alright, let's get the answer from the following dialogue.

A : I went on a date with Alan last night. B : Alan is handsome. Tell me what happened.

【答疑解惑】

It is "Tell me what happened.". This is a way of saying "I want to know something.". It means that the speaker want to know about some event. There is another sentence whose meaning is similar to it. That is "Tell me what that is about."【即學(xué)即用】

Please translate the sentences into English. 1 您能說說這是怎么回事嗎?

2 那跟我說說發(fā)生了什么事情?你去哪去了?

1 You want to tell me what happened here? 2 Then tell me what that is about? Where did you go?

A : You have got hurt? Your arm is bleeding. You want to tell me what happened on earth?

B : I had a small accident when I was driving my car on my way home. A : 你受傷了?你的手臂在流血。跟我說說到底怎么了?

B : 我在回家的路上開車時遇到了小事故。

Here are some phrases worthy remembering. They are : get hurt 受傷;on earth 究竟;have a accident 遇到事故;on one’s way home 在回家的路上;drive one's car駕車。

【Key words and phrases】

1 go on a date 去約會 For example: Other people go on a date.有的人則赴約會。 go on a date with 去和某人幽會 For example: I could go on a date with you to go to see a movie like normal people我們可以像普通人一樣約會和看電影. 我們說到去約會，how should we put "有個約會"?Let's look at the sentence: He isn't coming, having a hot date with Lucy. 他不來了，因為他有個朝思暮想的約會。So ，it's : have a date (with somebody). A hot date means an exciting date.意思是：朝思幕想的約會。

As for date, we have another phrase which is "go out of date". 意思是過時。For example:A lot of new words go out of date very quickly.不少新詞很快就不通用了。 And another idiom which is "blind date"that means a meeting between two people who haven't meet each other before. 是指男女間的初次會面。And sometimes the meeting is arranged by their friend because they want them to develop their relationship. 有時也指有第三方安排的男女間的初次會面。For example: A friend convinces me to go on a blind date with a lady of his.我的一個朋友勸說我和他的一個女朋友進(jìn)行約會。Here is phrase:go on a blind date with 和某人初次約會。We met on a blind date.我們是經(jīng)介紹認(rèn)識的。 Here is phrase: on a blind date 意思是：相親，通過介紹。A newspaper pal got him a blind date, choosing Alice because she was the only girl reporter shorter than he.一報社朋友給他介紹對象,選中的阿莉斯,因為她是惟一個子比他矮的女記者。Here's a phrase: get somebody a blind date 意思是：給某人介紹對象。In a word, date here refers to a romantic meeting. It means a meeting that you arranged with a boyfriend or a girl friend or with somebody who might become your boyfriend or girlfriend. 總而言之，date在這句話中指的是男女間的浪漫的約會，幽會。

【Translation】昨晚我和Alan約會去了。

2 Alan is handsome. 【Real Speech】

【Key Words and Phrases 】handsome我們都知道是指男性英俊瀟灑，有魅力。It means good-looking. 而指的是女性是beautiful, pretty 等。For example: He was aptly described as "tall dark and handsome".他被恰如其分的描述為高大黝黑，相貌堂堂。但是在這句話中，指的卻是女性。If it's used to describe female. It means attractive with large strong feature rather than small delicate one. 意思是：健美的。

【Sentence pattens】S+tell me + N(賓語從句) 意思是：說說......。順便啰嗦一句：me 是間接賓語，名詞和賓語從句指直接賓語。
