vi. as用作關(guān)系代詞

1. as與such連用，這時(shí)as = who/which。

I have never heard such a story as you tells .

我從來(lái)沒(méi)有聽(tīng)到像你講的這樣的故事。

He is not such a fool as he looks .

他不像看上去的那么傻。

Such women as knew Tom thought he was handsome.

認(rèn)識(shí)湯姆的婦女們都認(rèn)為他很帥。

2. as與the same連用。

She wears the same kind of clothes as her mother usually does.

他穿著她媽媽通常穿的那種衣服。

Yesterday I bought the same dictionary as you have.

昨天我買了你有的那種辭典。

3. as和which都可以引導(dǎo)定語(yǔ)從句，先行詞是整個(gè)主句或者主句的一部分。

She was quite right, as Harry soon discovered.

正如哈里很快發(fā)現(xiàn)的那樣，她完全正確。

Taiwan is , as you know, an inseparable part of China.

你們都知道，臺(tái)灣是中國(guó)不可分割的一部分。

注意：

1）as從句經(jīng)?？梢苑啪涫?，而which從句不能放句首。

As everyone knows, Taiwan belongs to China.

大家都知道臺(tái)灣屬于中國(guó)。

2）當(dāng)主句是否定句時(shí)，多用as引導(dǎo)從句。

Greenland was not a continent, as people thought.

格陵蘭并不像人們所想像的那樣是一個(gè)大洲。

3）as意為“正如”，而which意為“這一點(diǎn)”。

4）當(dāng)從句的謂語(yǔ)是see或know時(shí)，多用as引導(dǎo)從句。

He is an American, as I know from his accent.

他是美國(guó)人，我從他的發(fā)音就能聽(tīng)出來(lái)。

5）當(dāng)從句是被動(dòng)語(yǔ)態(tài)時(shí)，多用as引導(dǎo)從句。句中的as從句也不能用which來(lái)代替。

As is reported in the newspapers, talk between the two countries are making progress.

正如報(bào)紙上報(bào)道的那樣，這兩國(guó)之間的談判正在取得進(jìn)步。
