就我的脾氣而言，我的任務(wù)艱巨，我曉得你們必定傷心痛苦。

God grant you may dwell there ever as faithful subjects, a happy and peaceable people!

So on the hearts of the people descended the words of the speaker.
喇叭里有幾句話說到人們心坎。
Silent a moment, they stood in speechless wonder, and then rose louder and ever louder a wail of sorrow and anger,
在無語的驚詫中人們默默站了一會兒，然后哀號和憤怒聲越來越大，
And, by one impulse moved, they madly rushed to the doorway.
