The Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau has insisted that Iran must pay compensation for shooting down an Ukrainian airliner last week and quickly. Most of 176 people killed have been heading to Canada.

A court in France has sentenced 19 Islamist militants in absentia to between 25 years and life in prison in a highly unusual trial. The Jihadists who joined the Islamic state group in Iraq and Syria have been nicknamed Ghost as they maybe all presumed to be death. Five other people have received jail sentence for helping Jihadists leave for the Middle East.

Iraqi security forces have killed at least one person and wounded more than 20 during the latest anti-government protests in Baghdad. The latest violence occurred on one of the bridges across river Tigris, that has seen many of the similar crashes during months of demonstrations.

Ukraine's president Volodymyr Zelensky has refused to accept the resignation offered by his prime minister Oleksiy Honcharuk. The president said he was giving Mr.Honcharuk another chance to justify the confidence the public put him in his government. Mr.Honcharuk had offered to step down after an audience recording was made public, in which he has criticized the Ukrainian leader's grasp at economics.

Brazil's minister of culture Roberto Alvim has been sacked after posting a video, in which he appeared to copy the speech by Hitler's propaganda Boss Joseph Goebbels . Mr.Alvim  announced prizes for patriotic art on music by Hitler's favorite composer Wagner played in the background.

Mexico's president Andrés Manuel López Obrador says he is considering ruffling off his predecessor's 130 million dollar presidential jet, after efforts to find a private buyer came to nothing. The Boeing 787 dream liner was acquired eight years ago by the former president Enrique Peña Nieto.
