President Trump has made an unannounced trip to Afghanistan, his first since taking office. Mr. Trump said he had reopened talks with the Taliban, and believed they were open to a ceasefire. He told American troops at Bagram Air Field that their efforts and those of Afghan soldiers meant that the Taliban wanted to make a deal.
