Overhead the sky was of a clear, thin gold, with heavy masses of violet cloud stretched across from north to south,
頭頂天空清澈無比，夾雜稀疏細薄的金黃，紫羅蘭色的厚實云團從北往南橫鋪天穹，
and thickening as they got near the horizon.
愈接近地平面，云團愈發(fā)厚重。
Down at their feet, near the shore, a dusky line of huts and houses was scarcely visible;
