No man is an island, entire of itself.

沒有人是自成一體、與世隔絕的孤島。

Each is a piece of the continent, a part of the main.

每一個(gè)人都是廣袤大陸的一部份。

If a clod be washed away by the sea, motherland is the less.

As well as if a promontory were.

如同一個(gè)海岬失掉一角。

As well as if a manner of thine own or of thine friend's were.

Each man's death diminishes me, for I am involved in mankind.
