Man goes into the noisy crowd,
人走進(jìn)熙攘的人群，
to drown his own clamour of silence.
是為了在寂靜中掩蓋他自己的喧鬧。
Man is immortal;
人是永垂不朽的，
therefore he must die endlessly.
然而他必須無窮盡地死亡。
For life is a creative idea;
因?yàn)樯莿?chuàng)造性的理念；
it can only find itself in changing forms.
只能在變化的形式中發(fā)現(xiàn)它自己。
Man's abiding happiness is not in getting anything
人持久的幸福不在于獲得什么
but in giving himself up to what is greater than himself,
而在于把自己投身于比他自己更重要的事業(yè)，
to ideas which are larger than his inpidual life,
投身于比個(gè)人生命更重要的理念，
the idea of his country,
國(guó)家的理念，
of humanity,
人類的理念，
of God.
上帝的理念。
