作為IT行業(yè)的領(lǐng)軍企業(yè)之一，Innovo密切關(guān)注行業(yè)的發(fā)展動(dòng)態(tài)。對(duì)于有市場(chǎng)前景的新事物，則決不放過任何一個(gè)機(jī)會(huì)搶奪市場(chǎng)。隨著網(wǎng)絡(luò)在全球范圍內(nèi)的普及和盛行，networking website（社交網(wǎng)站）作為人們通過網(wǎng)絡(luò)擴(kuò)大社交圈和與朋友、同事保持聯(lián)系的重要手段而越來越受到人們的青睞，尤其是年輕白領(lǐng)特別prefer（偏愛）這種社交手段，很多人幾乎每天都會(huì)log on（登陸）這類網(wǎng)站，update自己的資料和status（狀態(tài)），發(fā)表一下對(duì)某個(gè)topic（話題）的看法，或是在好友的space（空間）里留言。還有人會(huì)選擇性地加入各種各樣的interest group（興趣群體），和志趣相投的人share（分享）他們得到的information（信息）。

Networking website正悄悄地風(fēng)行起來，Innovo也意識(shí)到了這是一個(gè)可以開發(fā)的領(lǐng)域，但是因?yàn)橹安]有接觸過這方面的業(yè)務(wù)，領(lǐng)導(dǎo)層并不十分確定開發(fā)和運(yùn)作這樣一個(gè)中文networking platform（社交平臺(tái)）的feasibility（可行性）和expectant benefit（預(yù)期效益），因此大量的market research（市場(chǎng)調(diào)研）是必不可少的。在這種情況下，Nancy接到了一個(gè)Johnson的指令——要在一周之內(nèi)和R & D Department（研發(fā)部門）一起做出一個(gè)具體詳細(xì)的research report（研究報(bào)告），然后向領(lǐng)導(dǎo)層匯報(bào)。整個(gè)Marketing Department和R & D Department一起忙了四天，最終做出了一個(gè)初步的draft（草案），最后的情況匯總到Nancy這里，由她做一個(gè)清晰明了的summary，以PPT的形式present（演示）給VP和其他管理層人員。

由于時(shí)間緊迫，收到前期的資料和數(shù)據(jù)后，Nancy就要抓緊時(shí)間整理presentation了。準(zhǔn)備了一上午，期間一遇到不懂的專業(yè)術(shù)語，她就到R & D Department找負(fù)責(zé)技術(shù)的同事請(qǐng)教，終于在午飯時(shí)候把報(bào)告搞定了。Nancy的PPT內(nèi)容比較詳盡，data（數(shù)據(jù)），chart（圖表）， pictures和quotes（引用）等能用的都用上了。因?yàn)榈綍r(shí)候有PPT作為reference（參照），后面的內(nèi)容可以照著準(zhǔn)備的材料講。但是前面的introduction則需要她脫稿，所以這部分也得好好準(zhǔn)備一下。她理了理思路，確定應(yīng)該這樣開頭：

該準(zhǔn)備的都準(zhǔn)備好了之后，為了以防到時(shí)候有什么問題她不能用專業(yè)知識(shí)回答，Nancy還叫上了R & D Department的Bob做她的臨時(shí)assistant。

下午的會(huì)議上她把研究報(bào)告present給大家：

A social network service focuses on building online communities of people who share interests or activities, or who are interested in exploring the interests and activities of others. Most social network services are web-based and provide a variety of ways for users to interact, such as e-mail and instant messaging services. In general, social networking services allow users to create a profile for themselves.

Social networking sites are becoming prevalent among the young people. As the increase in popularity of social networking is on a constant rise, new uses for the technology are constantly being observed.

One popular use for this new technology is social networking between businesses. Companies have found that social networking sites are great ways to build their brand image, to create brand awareness, to recruit, to learn about new technologies and competitors for recruit. These companies are able to drive traffic to their own online sites while encouraging their consumers and clients to have discussions.
