Reports from Sudan say several senior members of the former ruling party of the ousted president Omar al-Bashir have been arrested, including his former first deputy and the acting head of his national congress party. It's latest wave of arrest as the country's military leaders attempt to distant themselves from the previous administration, which protesters rejected as elite and corrupt.

There has been heavy fighting south of the Libya capital Tripoli after soldiers loyal to the U.N-backed government said they launched a counter-offense against general Khalifa Haftar's forces. More than 200 people have died since general Haftar began his attempt to capture Tripoli two weeks ago.
