To hamper, as a verb, means something different. 動詞“hamper”的意思又有所不同。

To hamper someone means to get in their way — to prevent them from doing something. “To hamper someone”的意思是“阻礙某人”——阻止某人做某事。

But as a noun, a hamper, or a clothes hamper, 但是作為名詞，“a hamper”或“a clothes hamper”，

is a place, usually it's a big plastic box with a top on it, or it could be made of wood, and that's where you put your dirty clothes. 指的是一個地方，通常它是有蓋的大塑料箱子，它也有可能是木制的，那是你放臟衣服的地方。

And then, at some point during the week, I hope, you wash your clothes so you can have clean clothes again. 然后，我希望在一周的某一天你會洗你的衣服，這樣你又能有干凈的衣服穿了。

Pajamas, "pajamas," are sometimes abbreviated as PJs, "PJ" PJs. 睡衣(pajamas)有時縮寫為“PJs”.

Your pajamas, or PJs, are the clothes that you wear when you are going to bed. 睡衣或“PJs”是睡覺時穿的衣服。
