雖然都是外賣，但是take-out和delivery還是有區(qū)別的：
Delivery 是“外送”，有人會給你送貨上門。
Take-out 是“外帶”，一般是你去店里點了以后，自己帶走。
打電話叫外賣，記住這幾句：
Hi, I'd like to order some delivery.
Hi, I'd like to get XXX (food) delivered.
Let's get delivery.
Can I get XXX delivered please?
如果要打包，學(xué)會這兩句：
For here or to-go?
For here or take-out?
這是快餐店、或常做外賣生意的飯店會問客人的;
回答也很簡單：
To-go
Take-out?
另外還有一個詞:
pick-up-“自取”
If you're in your office or at home, the restaurant is nearby: 如果你在辦公室或家，飯店就在樓下
You can go down and grab it in 20 minutes: 你過20分鐘下去拿
Hey, I'd like to order pick-up：我要點，然后自取
If you can't finish the food, you can get a "doggy bag": 如果點的菜沒吃完，剩下的可以打包(get a doggy bag)

美國最受歡迎的外賣食物#1. 披薩
When you talk about getting food delivered, probably pizza is the NO.1 thing：
如果說到外賣，披薩基本上就是排名第一的外賣食物
At least early on in the delivery game：至少剛有外賣，大家都是叫披薩
I feel like it was always either pizza or Chinese food: 反正我印象里，不是披薩，就是中國菜
Over the years, it's definitely expanded to include all kinds of different food: 當(dāng)然近些年來，外賣已經(jīng)擴展到幾乎所有的食物
披薩開啟美國少年的打工之路
披薩在美國有特殊意義，很多青少年(teenager)的第一份工作就是做披薩或者送披薩。
Spencer的第一份工作就是做披薩。
Do many Americans deliver pizza as their first part time job? 是不是很多美國人第一次打工，就是送披薩?
Actually high school kids don't usually work as pizza delivery guys since you'll need a car: 其實高中生打工不太會送披薩，因為要開車
It's usually 20 or 30 something good for nothing people：送披薩的很多是20、30歲混日子的人
Many work in a pizza joint. My first job was making pizzas: 不過很多人會在披薩店打工，我的第一份工作就是做披薩
美國人用什么app叫外賣?
美國大部分地區(qū)，點外賣都是直接打電話去飯店。像“餓了么”、“美團”這樣的第三方送餐服務(wù)只有在人口較多的大城市才有。
幾家比較大的外賣平臺包括Seamless、Chef'd、Muchery。

美國外賣#2 蓋澆飯
沒錯，美國人也愛蓋澆飯!
Rice bowl: 蓋澆飯
In China, rice bowl is probably our equivalent to pizza: 在中國，蓋澆飯的受歡迎程度大概和披薩在美國差不多
It's not just plain rice in a bowl. It has food on top of the rice: 不止是一碗白飯，飯上有菜
Rice bowl has become extremely popular in America too, especially the Korean Bibimbap or Japanese style rice bowls: 蓋澆飯在美國現(xiàn)在也很流行，特別是石鍋拌飯、還有日本料理的蓋澆飯

You don't just get rice bowls in Asian restaurants. They're everywhere: 不光是在亞洲餐廳可以找到蓋澆飯，現(xiàn)在任何地方都有

The idea is it contains everything: carbohydrates, veggies, proteins: 因為什么都有，碳水化合物、蔬菜、蛋白質(zhì)都集合在一個碗里
It's like what they serve at Chipotle: 就像Chipotle快餐店的風(fēng)格
You choose the base. You want white rice or brown rice. On the top of that, you can add this or add that： 選一個主食打底，比如白米或者糙米，上面再加別的東西。
You build your own food：可以自己創(chuàng)造組合食物
怎么用英語點外賣?
美國外賣#3: Sub三明治
美國人給三明治起了另外一個名字：sub, 這個詞不局限于賽百味(Subway)這一個品牌。
通常長面包做的三明治都叫sub，因為形狀很像submarine(潛水艇)。
Other things I've got delivered include subs: 其它我會叫的外賣還有三明治
Subs are sandwiches made from baguette or long pieces of bread: sub就是指用法棍或其它長面包做的三明治
They resemble the shape of a submarine: 它們看起來很像潛水艇
They're called subs, but they taste way better than Subway: 雖然也叫sub, 但是味道比Subway好多了
Subs don't need to be toasted: subs不一定要烤
Bagel sandwiches are also good: 貝果三明治也很好吃啊!
美國白領(lǐng)去哪兒吃午飯?
通常他們?nèi)ヒ环N叫deli的小飯店。這些專做快食，很多也沒有堂吃;

這類deli早上賣bagel之類的早餐;中午則賣sub、墨西哥卷兒這些午餐;通常還有一個自助吧，各種沙拉、小菜、中餐可以自選。
Deli經(jīng)濟實惠、又特別快，是上班族的大食堂。
P.S. 紐約的deli從前都是猶太人經(jīng)營的，但現(xiàn)在主打白領(lǐng)的很多deli都是韓國人經(jīng)營。
其實不同國家的人占領(lǐng)不同行業(yè)在美國也特別明顯。比如韓國人統(tǒng)治干洗店、deli、花店。而中國人也有自己的疆土。下次有機會跟大家說說。
#1.米粉: Rice noodles
各式各樣的米粉英語怎么說?
Guilin rice noodles: 桂林米粉
rice noodle soup: 湯粉
fried rice noodles: 炒粉
cold mix rice noodles 涼拌米粉
不過美國最常見的米粉不是桂林米粉，而是越南米粉Vietnamese pho。
Pho的發(fā)音有點像二中文的第二聲。
#2.麻辣燙：Spicy (DIY) Sichuan soup
這個名字是Spencer自己發(fā)明的，因為在美國的中餐館，麻辣燙并不多見。
It's huge in China, not so much in America: 它在中國是很受歡迎，不過在美國不是=
The only time I've seen 麻辣燙 outside of China was in Flushing：我唯一一次在中國以外的國家看到麻辣燙，是在紐約的法拉盛，那兒是著名的新移民華人社區(qū)
如何形容麻辣燙的重口味?
The soup upsets your stomach: 這個湯對腸胃太刺激了
It's very oily. It's a little bit too much for me: 也比較油，對我而言，口味太重了
Punchy flavors: 味道很濃，這是說法是褒義的
#3.串兒：kebabs, skewers
喜歡擼串兒的朋友不能錯過這個詞: kebabs?？救獯膊皇侵袊说膶＠?。在紐約，你能在路邊看到很多賣食物的小車(food trucks)，最常見的就是賣烤肉、烤肉夾餅的。

Kebabs and gyro are also very popular in the States: 肉串兒和gyro在美國都很受歡迎
There is a place in New York that people line up for at the stand called Kebab brothers.
紐約有個小攤常常大排長龍，就叫做“烤肉兄弟”

I feel like every city has a Kebab Brothers. Maybe they've become a huge franchise:

再說一下美國很受歡迎的gyro，
它其實是個大烤串，店員會把肉切下來，和別的東西混起來放在一張餅里(all in one)。和中國烤肉串吃法不一樣，更像墨西哥burrito卷。說起burrito

美國人經(jīng)常會把意想不到的兩國料理融合在一起，這種創(chuàng)新有時也叫人一言難盡。

If there is enough fish to go with it, I think that will be very delicious: 如果里面魚多，應(yīng)該挺好吃的

當(dāng)然, 也不是所有亞洲食物都精致，比如麻辣燙。但是：
