A White House assistant asked the President this question. She said, "What are we gonna do about the new abortion bill, sir?" He replied, "Shhhhh, keep it down. Justpay it!"

一個(gè)白宮助理問總統(tǒng)這櫸一個(gè)問題。

2. She said, "What are we gonna do about the new abortion bill, sir?"

她說：“總統(tǒng)先生，關(guān)于新的墮胎議案(賬單)我們該怎么做?”

“bill”可以指“賬單”，如：electric bill(電費(fèi)賬單);也可以指“議案' 如果議案通過，則成為法令(act)。sir是對男子的尊稱，通常用于稱呼不認(rèn)識(shí)的人、顧客、老師、長輩，上司等。

1973年美國的最高法院對“羅訴韋德"(Roev. Wade)一案做出判決，使墮胎合法化，但是各州可以自行決定，所以現(xiàn)在美國50個(gè)州中，有一半可以合法墮胎。雖然如此，30 多年來有關(guān)墮胎的爭論在美國國內(nèi)從未平息。
