MARY's STORY

瑪麗的故事

Father, and Charles, and Lucy, and I went to the beach yesterday.

爸爸、查理斯、露西和我昨天去了海灘。

We took our dinner, and stayed all day.

Father and Charles went out a little way from the shore in a boat, and fished, while Lucy and I gathered sea mosses.

爸爸和查理斯劃了一條船去釣魚(yú)，而露西和我則在采海苔。

We took off our shoes and stockings, and waded into the shallow water.

我們脫下鞋襪，費(fèi)力地走進(jìn)淺海，

We had a pail to put our seaweeds in.

提著一只桶去拾海苔。

We found such beautiful ones.

我們找到了非常漂亮的海苔。

Some were purple, some pink, and some brown.

有紫色的，有粉色的，有些則是棕色的。

When they were spread out in the water, the purple ones looked like plumes, and the brown ones like little trees.

當(dāng)它們?cè)谒锉粩傞_(kāi)時(shí)，紫色的像羽毛一樣，棕色的則像小樹(shù)。

Such a funny thing happened to Lucy.

一件有意思的事情發(fā)生在露西身上。

She slipped on a stone, and down she went into the water.

她踩到了一塊石頭，然后滑倒在水里。

How we both laughed! But the wind and sun soon dried Lucy's dress.

我們笑得合不攏嘴！風(fēng)和陽(yáng)光很快就把露西的裙子弄干了。

Then father came and took us in the boat for a row.

然后，爸爸過(guò)來(lái)接我們上船。

After that we had a picnic dinner in the woods.

劃過(guò)船后，我們?cè)跇?shù)林里享用午餐。

Then father spread his coat on the grass, and took a nap while we children played on the beach.

爸爸把他的大衣鋪在草地上。當(dāng)我們這些孩子在海灘上玩的時(shí)候，他午睡了一會(huì)兒。
