Well, in the story Lucy says that she needs to mop her bathroom and to scrub her tub. 故事中，露西說(shuō)她需要用拖把拖下浴室，并擦洗浴缸。

Scrub, "scrub" is a verb, which means to clean something by using a lot of energy - by using a lot of force. 擦洗，是動(dòng)詞，意思用力去清潔某個(gè)東西——用很大的勁兒。

Taking a towel, for example, and rubbing it back and forth several times; that would be to scrub something. 例如，拿著毛巾來(lái)回擦幾次，肯定能擦掉些東西。

Lucy says that she's too tired, so that the mopping and the scrubbing "will have to wait for another day." 露西說(shuō)她太累了，所以“改天”才能拖地和擦洗。

Or, if this were my house, it would be another year! 或者說(shuō)，如果這是我的家，那就是“改年”了。

Lucy turns on the television "to watch the newscast." 露西打開電視觀看新聞廣播。

A newscast, "newscast," is the same as a news program or a television news show that you will watch usually either on your television, 新聞廣播，通常情況下，與你在電視上或者播客上觀看的新聞節(jié)目或者電視新聞節(jié)目相同，

although you could have a newscast on the radio as well, or on a podcast. 不過(guò)也可以用收音機(jī)收聽(tīng)新聞。

Lucy says that she was too late to watch the national news; she "missed the national news." 露西說(shuō)，她晚了一會(huì)兒，沒(méi)趕上看國(guó)內(nèi)新聞，也就是她“錯(cuò)過(guò)了國(guó)內(nèi)新聞”。

The national news, of course, would be news about the whole country, not just about your particular area. 當(dāng)然，國(guó)內(nèi)新聞，是關(guān)于整個(gè)國(guó)家的新聞，不僅僅是你某個(gè)特定地區(qū)的新聞。

If it is news just about your city, we would call that local news. 如果只是關(guān)于你所在城市的新聞，我們叫作本地新聞。

Lucy flips "through the channels but all" she sees "are commercials." 露西瀏覽了“電視頻道”，可惜看到的都是“商業(yè)廣告”。
