How large unto the tiny fly	華爾特·德·拉·梅爾
Must little things appear! —	對(duì)小蒼蠅來(lái)說(shuō)，沒(méi)錯(cuò)，
A rosebud like a feather bed,	小東西大得不得了！——
Its prickle like a spear;	玫瑰花苞像張大床，
A dewdrop like a looking-glass,	它的一根刺像支矛；
A hair like golden wire;	一滴露像面穿衣鏡，
The smallest grain of mustard-seed	一根頭發(fā)像根金線；
As fierce as coals of fire;	小小一顆芥菜種子，
A loaf of bread, a lofty hill;	像燃燒的煤塊一般；
A wasp , a cruel leopard;	一塊面包像座高山；
And specks of salt as bright to see	一只黃蜂像頭兇豹；
As lambkins to a shepherd.	看見幾粒閃光的鹽，
	像牧人見一群羊羔。
