731　worth用法難點(diǎn)

① worth作形容詞用時，表示“值得……的，價值……的”，只能作表語，但不可單獨(dú)作表語，后面必須跟名詞、代詞或動名詞，結(jié)構(gòu)為：

be worth sth. （a visit，much money）

be worth doing（要用動名詞的主動形式表示被動意義）

This picture is worth 500 dollars. 這幅畫值500美元。

His suggestion is worth our consideration. 他的建議值得我們考慮。

How much is the pen worth？

這支鋼筆值多少錢？

What is the pen worth？

This book is worth reading again. 這本書值得再讀一遍。

The question is worth thinking over. 這個問題值得仔細(xì)考慮。

Knowledge is worth working for. 知識是值得追求的。

What is worth doing is worth doing well. 值得做的事就值得做好。

It's worth thinking about. 這值得考慮一下。

The suggestion is worth considering，isn't it？這個建議值得考慮，不是嗎？

①表示“很值得……”，要說be well worth…，不說be very worth…；表示“更值得……”，要說be more worth…。

This problem is well worth discussing. 這個問題很值得進(jìn)一步討論。

This film is well worth seeing again.

That city is more worth visiting. 那座城市更值得一游。

②（be）of worth有價值的，值錢的；還有be of little worth，be of no worth，books of real worth，paintings of exceptional worth，nothing of worth等。

A college education will be of great worth to you later. 在大學(xué)受的教育對你今后會大有幫助。

③在be worth doing結(jié)構(gòu)中，句中的主語就是動名詞的邏輯賓語，因此，動名詞后面不可再有賓語，但可以有狀語。
