352　hundred，thousand和million

① 這些數(shù)量詞前有數(shù)詞（one，two，three…）修飾時(shí)，表示確切數(shù)量，仍使用單數(shù)形式hundred，thousand，million…，再接復(fù)數(shù)名詞。

The town has fifty thousands people.

The town has fifty thousand people.

這個(gè)小城有5萬(wàn)人口。

② 這些數(shù)量詞前無(wú)數(shù)詞，表示概數(shù)時(shí)，要用復(fù)數(shù)形式，后再加of。結(jié)構(gòu)為：

Hundreds of people came to the meeting. 數(shù)百人出席了會(huì)議。

提示

①表示概數(shù)的hundreds of…，thousands of…短語(yǔ)中的of 之后，不可加the，these，those或所有格（my，your…）。

Thousands of the/those people gathered there.

Thousands of people gathered there.

數(shù)千人聚集在那里。

②表示確指的ten thousand，five hundred后，可加of，再加the，these，those或所有格（my，your…），用以表示某范圍內(nèi)的一部分。

這些/她的學(xué)生中有500個(gè)通過(guò)了考試。

Five hundred of the/her students passed the exam.

She has three hundred books. 她有300本書。（確指）

She has hundreds of books. 她有好幾百本書。（泛指）
