323　had better，would like，should like和would rather

① had better可縮寫成'd better，意為“最好”，應(yīng)看作情態(tài)動(dòng)詞，通用于所有人稱，had不可改為have或has。had better后跟動(dòng)詞原形，不可跟不定式。had better的否定式為had better not，不是had not better。

You had better hurry up if you want to catch the first bus. 如果你想趕上頭班公共汽車，你最好快點(diǎn)。

You'd better leave him alone now. 你最好先別理他。

You'd better not wake him up. 你最好不要弄醒他。

② had better + 動(dòng)詞原形表示現(xiàn)在最好干什么或?qū)碜詈酶墒裁?，時(shí)間概念是現(xiàn)在或?qū)?；如果表示過去最好干什么，或過去最好不干什么，要用had better +動(dòng)詞的完成式。

③ would like可縮寫成'd like。would like用于禮貌地向?qū)Ψ教岢稣?qǐng)求或邀請(qǐng)，也表示說話者本人喜不喜歡做某事，后跟不定式或名詞。

Would you like some coffee？喝點(diǎn)咖啡好嗎？

Would you like to have another try？你想再試一下嗎？

I'd like some tea. 我想要茶。

I'd like to talk with you. 我想同你談一談。

would like用于疑問句表示請(qǐng)求或邀請(qǐng)時(shí)，肯定回答通常用“Yes，I'd love to.”，否定回答用“I'd love to，but…”。

④ should like的縮寫形式為'd like，通常只用于陳述句，不用于疑問句，表示說話者本人愿意做什么或想做什么，后跟不定式，也可表示想要什么，后跟名詞。

I'd like to buy a new pen. 我想買一支新鋼筆。

I'd like a cup of tea. 我想要杯茶。

would rather do sth. than do sth.

would rather+從句（為虛擬語氣，謂語動(dòng)詞要用過去式）

I would rather drink tea. 我寧愿喝茶。

I would rather go home than stay here. 我寧愿回家去而不愿待在這里。

I'd rather you went home now. 我希望你現(xiàn)在回家去。
