up to scratch這個(gè)習(xí)慣用語起源于九十來年前，來自早先在室外舉行拳擊賽的時(shí)代。當(dāng)時(shí)人們?cè)谀嗟氐娜瓝魣錾蟿澇鲆粭l線，就叫做scratch，而兩名拳擊選手在準(zhǔn)備開始比賽的那一刻得腳尖抵著這條scratch面對(duì)面站著。久而久之，up to scratch引申為符合標(biāo)準(zhǔn);達(dá)到標(biāo)準(zhǔn)，合格;令人滿意。
