Put on是“穿上”,put years on是什么?

Put on穿上,take off脫下,

那么當(dāng)你聽到有人說put years on,

if you say that something such as an experience or a way of dressing has put years on someone, you mean that it has made them look or feel much older

Her bedraggled pony-tail put years on her.

I'm not even 30, but having two kids has put years on me!

02
put one's finger on 是“放指頭在...

to discover the exact reason why a situation is the way it is, especially when something is wrong

There's something odd about him, but I can't quite put my finger on it.

03
put one's foot in one's mouth

Foot是腳的意思,mouth表示嘴巴,如果你把put your foot in your mouth直譯成把你的腳塞進(jìn)嘴巴的話,一定會(huì)鬧出笑話。

老外說I put my foot in my mouth,千萬不要以為他有什么惡俗的怪癖,他只是為自己說錯(cuò)話而道歉,put one s foot in one s mouth表示一個(gè)人說錯(cuò)話了。

to say something that you regret; to say something stupid, insulting, or hurtful

Sorry, I really put my foot in my mouth at the wedding.
