“l(fā)ook out”不是“向外看”，理解錯(cuò)就尷尬了

不像話

在說(shuō)某人“不像話”時(shí)，就表示認(rèn)為某種做法或說(shuō)法難以容忍，所以英文就可以用outrageous這個(gè)詞來(lái)表示。

What you did is really outrageous!

你這樣做太不像話了!

對(duì)話

A:You have been late four times during one week. It is really outrageous!

你一周之內(nèi)已經(jīng)遲到四次了，這太不像話了!

B:I'm sorry. I won't be late again.

對(duì)不起，我不會(huì)再遲到了。

我們經(jīng)常說(shuō)的“太不像話了”用英語(yǔ)還可以簡(jiǎn)單地表示成be too much，或者用unreasonable來(lái)表示。

出洋相

“出洋相”常用來(lái)形容人因?yàn)闊o(wú)知、失誤等鬧出笑話，在別人看來(lái)就像演戲一樣熱鬧有趣，所以可用create a scene表示。

As a new comer, Jim creates scenes now and then.

吉姆是新來(lái)的，時(shí)不時(shí)就會(huì)出洋相。

對(duì)話

A:I can finish the task on time.

我能按時(shí)完成任務(wù)。

B:Don't create a scene. You can't finish.

別出洋相了。你完成不了的。

“出洋相”還可以說(shuō)成

比如：

Tom wanted to show off his skills but made a fool of himself.

湯姆想逞能，可是卻出了洋相。

搞定

“搞定”的意思實(shí)際就是“把…做完”，所以可用get...done表示。

John got all the things done quickly.

約翰迅速搞定了所有事情。

對(duì)話

A:It's time to go home. Have you finished your work?

該回家了。你做完工作了嗎?

B:Yes. I've already gotten all the things done.

嗯，我已經(jīng)把一切都搞定了。

“搞定”還可以用make it或者work it out來(lái)表示。

小心

這里的“小心”是一種提醒，可以用look out表示。要注意，這里的look out可不是“向外看”的意思。

Look out! A car is coming.

小心!有車開(kāi)過(guò)來(lái)了。

A:What's happening? Let's go for a look.

發(fā)生了什么事?我們?nèi)タ纯窗伞?/p>

B:Look out!

小心點(diǎn)兒!

“小心!”還可以用“Watch out!”

或“Be careful!”來(lái)表達(dá)

過(guò)獎(jiǎng)

“過(guò)獎(jiǎng)”表示別人對(duì)自己的贊揚(yáng)太過(guò)了，可以用over-praise表示。

I think the boss over-praised me.

我覺(jué)得老板對(duì)我真是過(guò)獎(jiǎng)了。

對(duì)話

A:You're the best staff I've ever met.

你是我見(jiàn)過(guò)的最優(yōu)秀的員工。

B:Thank you. But you over-praised me.

謝謝，不過(guò)您過(guò)獎(jiǎng)了。

“You flatter me.”也可以表示“您過(guò)獎(jiǎng)了。”

不過(guò)西方國(guó)家的人幾乎不使用“過(guò)獎(jiǎng)了”這種謙虛的說(shuō)法來(lái)回答別人的夸獎(jiǎng)，只回答“Thank you.”就可以了。
