“Are you boring?”不是在問“你是否覺得無聊？”

如果你想好心套個近乎，

走上前去問人家是不是無聊了，

可千萬不要說，

"Are you boring?"，

人家沒準會翻你一個白眼。

boring

指人或事物(本身)無趣，主語一般是物;

如果是人，就是某某這個人很無聊。

所以“you are boring”是指"你是個無趣的人, 你是個煩人的人"

例:

Jack is really boring and I don't wanna hang out with him.

Jack是個無聊的人，我不喜歡和他出去。

bored

指人(自己感到)無聊，主語一般是人。

I'm bored是"我感到無聊"的意思。

例：

If I am doing the same thing every day, I'll get bored.

如果我每天都做一樣的事情，我就會覺得無聊。

I'm bored to death.

我無聊死了。

關(guān)于以-ing結(jié)尾和以-ed結(jié)尾的形容詞，我們可要分清意思!

01以-ing結(jié)尾的形容詞：表示“讓人覺得”。

比如，

這個案子讓人感到挫敗。

(X)This project is frustrated.

(√)This project is frustrating.

遲到是最煩人的工作習慣!

(X)Lateness is the most annoyed work habit!

(√)Lateness is the most annoying work habit!

02以-ed結(jié)尾的形容詞：敘述“我覺得”。

我感到很挫敗。

(X)I am very frustrating.

(√)I am very frustrated.

注意!感到挫敗的是我，而不是我令人感到挫敗。

Many people are surprised to learn that

I am still alive in this company.

很多人對于我仍待在這家公司感到驚訝。

因此，形容一個人時，要先分清你是在形容

這個人的個人感情(-ed)，

還是這個人給別人的感覺(-ing)，

可別再不小心鬧笑話了。

John was disappointed.

John很沮喪。→他自己很失望

John was disappointing.

John很掃興→讓別人很失望
