slip的意思是“滑”，通常就是指 腳滑，滑倒之類的，而當(dāng)它搭配其他詞語，也可以表示某個(gè)東西偏離了正確的位置，造成了某種錯(cuò)誤，就如a slip of the tongue，就可以理解為舌頭打滑，舌頭沒有在它本該在的位置而導(dǎo)致了說話說錯(cuò)了。這個(gè)短語的英文解釋為

a mistake made when what someone says is different from what was meant

指一種所說的與本意不一致的錯(cuò)誤

例：

I called her new boyfriend by her previous boyfriend's name - it was just a slip of the tongue.

我叫她的新男友時(shí)喊成了她前任男友的名字——那只是一個(gè)口誤。

02 stumble

泛指一類錯(cuò)誤，不一定只是“口誤”，也有可能是演奏過程中不小心出現(xiàn)的錯(cuò)誤。

在講話或演奏音樂時(shí)犯錯(cuò)誤，如重復(fù)某事或停頓太久;

詩人在朗誦一首詩的過程中念錯(cuò)了一句，聽眾中有人糾正了他。

03 malapropism

04 misspeak

to say something that is not correct, by mistake

講錯(cuò)話

misspeak和“口誤”還不太一樣，口誤是知道正確的說法，也準(zhǔn)備這么說，但是不小心說錯(cuò)了，而說錯(cuò)話則有可能是有意的說了某些話，但是這些話在當(dāng)下并不是合適的。

例：

The Secretary denied lying, but said that he misspoke.

秘書不承認(rèn)說謊，而是說自己說錯(cuò)了。
