這里的if you like確實是表示

“如果你喜歡...的話”的意思

但是除了像上面那個句子一樣使用，

if you like還經(jīng)常單獨使用，

其后并不接具體的內(nèi)容，

而是作為口頭禪一樣，

隨口加上

如果是作為口頭禪，

這個詞組就有兩個涵義

①used to agree politely to a suggestion or request

用于禮貌地同意一個建議或要求

比如

"Could we stay a little longer?"

我們能呆久點嗎?

"Yes, if you like."

可以，你愿意呆就呆會兒。

②used to say that a particular expression is one way of saying something, especially to suggest that some people may not choose to say it that way

當(dāng)你想使用某一個特定詞匯表達某一個東西時，尤其其中還暗示了這個特定的詞匯可能是大家不會選擇說的時候，常常會用這個短語，可以翻譯成“如果你愿意那樣說的話。”同if you will

例：

I did very well in school , with a "genius IQ" if you like.

我在學(xué)校成績很好，有“天才智商”，如果你愿意那樣說的話。

The experience was, if you like, a glimpse of the future.

這次經(jīng)歷，也可以說是，對未來的一瞥吧。

作為口頭禪時，if you like并沒有固定的翻譯，一般隨句意表示贊同或建議的意思即可。

if you take my meaning

used to say that you have left out information or your opinion from what you have just said, but that you expect the person listening still to understand it

如果你明白我的意思(指弦外之音)

例：

Let's just say we had "problems", if you take my meaning.

它的意思其實是“你不該問的”

一般放在你回答不想回答的問題時

提問的人就會知道這是不該問的

舉個例子
