Cut就是切東西的切。cut and dried里的dried 是從動詞to dry變形而來，也就是動詞to dry的過去式，意思是已經(jīng)干了。Cut and dried這個習(xí)慣用語的含義實際上跟cut 和 dry都沒有什么關(guān)系。Cut and dried的意思是：老一套，或者是人們所預(yù)料的，或者是根據(jù)以往的老做法來行事。任何事情要是被說成cut and dried，那就很可能是沒有什么吸引人的地方，因為缺乏新鮮內(nèi)容。
