When the annual Chinese Spring Festival was drawing near, suddenly the large parts of our middle and southern provinces and regions suffered a series of extremely colds, snowstorms and freezing weather. The destructive weather directly led to cut-off of drinking water and electricity power, and many migrant workers were stranded in stations and couldn’t go home to get together with their families. In many districts people lived a hard life and our country suffered a great loss.
We can see from this incident that the weather reports should be blamed for its slow forecast and that many weak points existed in our work. The middle and southern parts of our country haven’t experienced such bad weather for years and were not well-prepared for it. I think we will learn a lesson from such bad weather and strengthen our work from now on.

Thank you for your concern about the heavy snow that has swept across many parts of China including Anhui since mid-January. Actually, it’s the worst snow disaster in our country. What a disaster! So far, it's reported that more than 80,000 people died in the SiChuan earthquake.What's more, millions of people there have become homeless.And they are still in the danger of illness and other difficulties. Anyway, thanks to all the kind people, in and abroad,the situation has been changing well.But we still work hard at it,especially to build houses for those homeless people and cure the injured people.
What can we do now? Besides doing our own job well,we can donate money to them.We firmly believe that with the party and the government's strong leadership, and with the people of all nationalities throughout the country to aid,this earthquake relief will be a victory!
