Todd: Well, what about clothes? Like, are you a brand name person?

托德：衣服呢?你追求名牌嗎?

Melissa: No, not at all. That's not my style.

梅莉莎：不，我不買名牌。那不是我的風(fēng)格。

Todd: Yeah, so what determines your style? What influences you?

托德：好，那你是什么風(fēng)格?買衣服時(shí)哪方面會(huì)影響你?

Melissa: Well, what I do when I go shopping. I usually have something in mind that I want to buy, so either a certain color or just a certain item of clothing and then I look around at all the different shops and compare the best prices and things like that, and then I'll buy the one that's the best deal and I'll feel really good about it.

梅莉莎：我購物時(shí)的情況。我在逛街時(shí)，通常已經(jīng)想好了要買的東西，我會(huì)想好要買的顏色和款式，然后去各個(gè)商店逛，比較價(jià)格，我會(huì)買下價(jià)格最劃算我也覺得不錯(cuò)的那件衣服。

Todd: So for your style, do you look around and also you say, "Oh, I like what that person's wearing. I wanna dress this style" or do you just think, you have your own style and you don't care if it fits into a mold.

托德：那有關(guān)你的風(fēng)格，你在逛街時(shí)會(huì)不會(huì)看到某個(gè)人的衣服，會(huì)想：哦，我喜歡那個(gè)人穿的衣服，我也想要那樣的裙子，還是你認(rèn)為你有自己的風(fēng)格，你不在乎是否和別人一樣。

Melissa: I think it's a mix. I think that sometimes I'll see something that someone's wearing and I'll like it or want something similar and then of course that mixes in with things I already have, but I also like to make my own clothes, and remake clothes and things and things like that, so sometimes I'll remake something and realize that I need a sweater or something to go with it and then I'll just buy it based on something else I already have.

梅莉莎：兩種都有吧。有時(shí)我會(huì)覺得其他人穿的衣服很好看，我也想要件類似的，和我的衣服進(jìn)行搭配，另外我也會(huì)自己做衣服，改衣服，有時(shí)我改完衣服以后，發(fā)現(xiàn)我需要件毛衣來搭配這件衣服，那我就會(huì)依據(jù)我已有的衣服，去挑選可以搭配的衣服。

Todd: Oh, so you make your own clothes.

托德：哦，你自己做衣服。

Melissa: Yeah, I don't do it from scratch a lot. Sometimes I'll go to a craft store and buy fabric and then cut it up and make a shirt from fabric, but often take a shirt or pants I already have and make into something. Like, I recently was living with a couple of roommates and my roommate was getting rid of all her old jeans so I cut her jeans up and cut a sweater up I had and then I made it into a jacket.

梅莉莎：對(duì)，我并不經(jīng)常做新衣服。有時(shí)我會(huì)去手工品店買布料，裁剪以后做成短裙，不過多數(shù)時(shí)候我會(huì)用我的襯衫和褲子去改衣服。現(xiàn)在，我和幾個(gè)室友一起住，有一個(gè)室友要處理掉她的舊牛仔褲，所以我把她的牛仔褲裁剪了一下，又裁了我的一件毛衣，然后用這兩件做成了一件夾克。

Todd: Oh, nice.

托德：哦，真好。

Melissa: Yeah.

梅莉莎：對(duì)。

Todd: And you still have it.

托德：現(xiàn)在你還在穿 。

Melissa: Totally. I wear it all time.

梅莉莎：沒錯(cuò)，我一直在穿。

Todd: Cool. Alright, well, thanks Melissa.
