Todd: So, Katia and Fred, we're going to talk about your dance school.

托德：卡蒂亞，弗雷德，我們來(lái)聊聊你們二人的舞蹈學(xué)校。

Katia: OK.

卡蒂亞：好的。

Todd: So, first can you explain where your dance school is and what it is?

托德：第一個(gè)問(wèn)題，你們能介紹一下你們的舞蹈學(xué)校在哪里，還有學(xué)校的相關(guān)情況嗎?

Fred: OK, Todd. Well, we have a school that's called International School of Dance, where we teach belly dance and Latin American dance, which mainly consists of Salsa, merengue, bachata, and it is located in Beppu, Japan.

弗雷德：好的，托德。我們的舞蹈學(xué)校叫做國(guó)際舞蹈學(xué)校，我們會(huì)教肚皮舞還有薩爾薩舞、默朗格舞、巴恰塔舞等拉丁舞，我們的舞蹈學(xué)校在日本別府。

Todd: So, when did you think of this idea for...?

托德：你們什么時(shí)候想到要開舞蹈學(xué)校的?

Katia: We thought about it maybe a month, a month ago. Not long ago. Right the next day, or right away, Fred was already working on everything, so we just gave some e-mails, were doing this, and what about this, and so everything he started right away and we actually had an integration for the school maybe almost three weeks ago, and since we opened the following day we already are teaching.

卡蒂亞：我們大概在一個(gè)月想到的這個(gè)主意。不是很長(zhǎng)時(shí)間以前。第二天，或者說(shuō)有這個(gè)想法以后弗雷德馬上就去做準(zhǔn)備了，我們只是發(fā)郵件談到這個(gè)想法，然后弗雷德馬上就開始著手進(jìn)行了，三個(gè)星期以前我們的舞蹈學(xué)校開業(yè)，開業(yè)第二天我們就開始教課了。

Todd: Already.

托德：已經(jīng)開始上課了。

Fred: So, we have something close to twenty students in three weeks of the school opening.

弗雷德：在學(xué)校開業(yè)的這三個(gè)禮拜里我們招收了近20名學(xué)生。

Todd: That's pretty fast.

托德：進(jìn)展好快啊。

Fred: Yeah. It is very, very fast.

弗雷德：對(duì)，非?？?，很快。

Katia: Yes. I think we are surprised.

卡蒂亞：這令我們很吃驚。

Todd: So, why did you choose those two dances: belly dance, right, and salsa?

托德：那你們?yōu)槭裁催x擇教肚皮舞和薩爾薩舞這兩個(gè)舞種?

Katia: I think mainly because this is what people are interested in right now and it's something that a lot of people can learn and it's popular and of course I can teach this kind of dance so of course.

卡蒂亞：主要原因是現(xiàn)在人們對(duì)這兩個(gè)舞種感興趣，而且這兩種舞蹈既適合大部分人學(xué)習(xí)，也很受歡迎，當(dāng)然還有個(gè)原因是我能教這兩種舞蹈。

Todd: So, you're saying that belly dance is popular?

托德：你是說(shuō)肚皮舞很流行嗎?

Katia: Yes, it is. Yes, it is.

卡蒂亞：對(duì)，很流行，很受歡迎。

Todd: I had no idea.

托德：我不了解這個(gè)。

Katia: It's very popular, and especially around women. It's something that gives a certain feeling to the woman so it's of course you workout. You use your body movements, but also there's a special feeling about doing belly dance so it's popular.

卡蒂亞：肚皮舞非常受歡迎，尤其受女性的歡迎。跳肚皮舞會(huì)讓女性有一種特別的感覺(jué)，而且還可以起到健身的效果。肚皮舞使身體動(dòng)起來(lái)，而且還會(huì)產(chǎn)生一種特別的感覺(jué)，所以很受歡迎。

Todd: Could you kind of explain a little bit more? Like, what do you mean it has a special feeling? Like, this dance has special... I don't know, uses special muscles or...

托德：你能再說(shuō)的詳細(xì)一點(diǎn)嗎?你說(shuō)特別的感覺(jué)，那是什么意思?還有肚皮舞是不是需要特別的肌肉……

Katia: No, not exactly like that. Of course the music has to do a lot with it. When you hear a Latin music, you feel different and you move different. When you hear Oriental music, then you have completely a different posture and for example, as a woman, you will tend to take a different posture. Your body will be different depending on the music. With belly dance, your body posture is very different, that for somehow, some reason... and maybe because of the history of belly dance, it's very related to femininity, being feminine and dancing.

卡蒂亞：不是，并不是那樣的。當(dāng)然和音樂(lè)有很大關(guān)系。拉丁音樂(lè)會(huì)讓你有特別的感覺(jué)，身體的動(dòng)作也會(huì)不同。而配合東方音樂(lè)的舞蹈動(dòng)作則完全不同，舉例來(lái)說(shuō)，女性會(huì)做出不一樣的姿勢(shì)。你的身體會(huì)依據(jù)音樂(lè)的不同而做出不同的動(dòng)作。因?yàn)槟撤N原因肚皮舞的姿勢(shì)與眾不同，可能是因?yàn)槎瞧の璧臍v史與女性氣質(zhì)有關(guān)，所以舞蹈展現(xiàn)出女性的感覺(jué)。
