Todd: What's your favorite color?

托德：你最喜歡什么顏色?

Wendi: Me?

溫迪：我嗎?

Todd: Yeah. You're the only one here.

托德：對?，F(xiàn)在只有你在這里。

Wendi: Good point. Favorite color — green.

溫迪：說得對。我最喜歡的顏色是綠色。

Todd: Yeah. Why green?

托德：為什么喜歡綠色?

Wendi: I don't know. I just chose on really. I don't know. These days I kind of like green, but it changes all the time.

溫迪：我也不知道。只是選了綠色。我也不清楚。最近我比較喜歡綠色，不過我喜歡的顏色總是會變。

Todd: Like seasonally? You have your favorite color for the season?

托德：隨季節(jié)變化嗎?根據(jù)季節(jié)的不同，你喜歡的顏色也會不同嗎?

Wendi: I think it's more of a monthly thing.

溫迪：可能每個月都會變。

Todd: Right.

托德：好。

Wendi: You?

溫迪：你呢。

Todd: Well, purple. I love the color purple.

托德：我喜歡紫色。我非常喜歡紫色。

Wendi: Why is that?

溫迪：為什么?

Todd: I don't know really. Same thing I guess and I never wear purple. I mean, I don't have purple clothes. I don't have anything purple in my room, but.

托德：其實我也不清楚。和你一樣，不過我從來不穿紫色的衣服。我是說，我沒有紫色的衣服。我房間里也沒有紫色的物品，不過我就是喜歡。

Wendi: You should have a purple suit.

溫迪：你應(yīng)該買套紫色西裝。

Todd: A zoot suit. A purple suit.

托德：一套紫色的佐特套裝。

Wendi: Yeah, just for one on those days when you're feeling it. You could pull it off.

溫迪：對，哪天你可以穿出來。

Todd: A yellow shirt maybe and purple tie.

托德：黃色襯衫配紫色領(lǐng)帶。

Wendi: No, and a purple shirt too and a purple tie, some purple patent shoes and a purple brief case.

溫迪：不好，還是紫色襯衫配紫色領(lǐng)帶，再搭配一雙紫色皮鞋，拿一個紫色公文包。

Todd: I'm not sure it's going to go with my complexion.

托德：我不確定這套搭配是否適合我的膚色。

Wendi: No, I think it will work.

溫迪：我覺得很適合。

Todd: Purple hat, suede hat.

托德：再戴一個紫色的羊皮帽。

Wendi: I see it all right now. It looks good.

溫迪：我覺得很好?？雌饋砗芎?。

Todd: OK, what's a color you don't like?

托德：好，你不喜歡哪個顏色?

Wendi: A color I don't like. I'll show you a color I don't like, but I don't know if there's a name for it, the closest name would probably be mustard.

溫迪：不喜歡的顏色。我可以給你看一下我不喜歡的顏色，不過我不確定那個顏色的準(zhǔn)確說法，大概就是芥末黃這個顏色。

Todd: Like this green.

托德：就像這種綠色一樣嗎?

Wendi: You think that's a green. See I think that's more of baby diarrhea.

溫迪：你覺得那是種綠色。我認(rèn)為那更接近于嬰兒腹瀉的顏色。

Todd: It does actually look like baby diarrhea.

托德：看起來的確像嬰兒腹瀉的顏色。

Wendi: It is quite baby diarrhea. Have you ever had to change a baby's diaper?

溫迪：就是很像嬰兒腹瀉的顏色。你給嬰兒換過尿布嗎?

Todd: Of course.

托德：當(dāng)然換過。

Wendi: Yeah, it's kind of, it's about that color and that's one that I don't like. Yeah, it's bad isn't it.

溫迪：對，就是那種顏色，那就是我不喜歡的顏色。那顏色很糟，是吧?

Todd: That is disgusting.

托德：有點兒惡心。

Wendi: There's a story behind those pants.

溫迪：關(guān)于這條褲子有個有意思的故事。

Todd: Oh, yeah, what's the story behind the pants?

托德：這條褲子有什么有意思的故事?

Wendi: I think no one would buy them so they got heavily discounted and so I purchased them and then when I got home, I was like, "Wait a second! I know why no one else would buy those cause they're so ugly."

溫迪：我覺得是因為沒有人買這樣的褲子，所以這褲子的折扣很低，所以我買了下來，然后我回家以后，我突然想到：等等，我知道為什么沒人買這褲子了，因為它們太丑了!

Todd: What, you were working at a clothing store?

托德：你在服裝店工作嗎?

Wendi: No, I was shopping.

溫迪：不是，我是去購物的。

Todd: And you noticed that no one buying these poor pants and you're like, 'I must buy them."

托德：你是注意到?jīng)]人買那褲子然后你覺得你一定要買下來嗎?

Wendi: Yeah. No, actually, I think like whenever I buy stuff, cause it's not often, my first thing is I look at the price tag and I was like, "Ah, dam, a thousand yen, I could use some work pants." And then I bought them and well, they've never been worn, but a little while later.

溫迪：其實不是，我不經(jīng)常買東西，所以我購物的時候第一件事就是看價格標(biāo)簽，所以當(dāng)時我想：天哪，1000日元，我可以買來當(dāng)作工作褲。然后我就買了，后來我一直沒有穿過，不過之后……

Todd: Well, you've actually never worn these things?

托德：你從來沒穿過這些衣服嗎?

Wendi: I've never worn them.

溫迪：沒穿過。

Todd: Come on, you gotta, you know bust out.

托德：你要勇于嘗試。

Wendi: I can't bust out. It's like me busting out in those is akin to you busting out in the purple suit. It's just not going to happen.

溫迪：我做不到。對我來說，穿這樣的褲子就像你穿紫色西裝一樣。是永遠(yuǎn)不會發(fā)生的事情。

Todd: Yeah, but you see, I would actually have to spend a lot of money. I would wear the purple suit but I just don't want to go buy it. If I actually had it I'd probably wear it.

托德：你看，我要穿紫色西裝就要花一大筆錢。我會穿紫色西裝，不過我只是不想買紫色西裝。如果我有紫色西裝，那我就會穿的。

Wendi: That's dishonest because if I got you a purple suit, you would not wear it.

溫迪：你說的不是真話，如果我給你買一套紫色西裝，你還是不會穿的。

Todd: Oh, buy it. I'll wear it.

托德：哦，你買吧。我會穿的。

Wendi: Oh, no way. There's not way you would.

溫迪：不可能。你肯定不會穿的。

Todd: Because you know what, the greatest thing about being a teacher is you can wear whatever you want.

托德：你知道，當(dāng)老師最棒的事情就是你可以想穿什么衣服就穿什么。

Wendi: That's kind of true.

溫迪：這倒是事實。

Todd: You know because they expect you to have no fashion sense anyway.

托德：不過他們認(rèn)為你沒有時尚品味。

Wendi: For sure.

溫迪：沒錯。

Todd: So.

托德：是嗎?

Wendi: It is true actually.

溫迪：其實這沒錯。
