According to a survey by Vipshop Holdings and the Economist Intelligence Unit on the increased buying power of female consumers in Asia, nearly 30% of Asian women shop online from bed at night and 40% shop online at work.
The survey found many Asian women think that home is the best place to shop, with 78% there using a PC, 45% using smartphones and 25% using tablets.
More than 74% of women on the Chinese mainland buy online for themselves. However, "guilt shopping" is also a factor, with 67% of women on the mainland saying they will buy something for their partners, children or families if they feel they have spent too much on themselves.
