在墻上是用in the wall還是on the wall呢？

in里面的字母I就像一根釘子，
釘子是在墻里面的，
所以在墻里面要用in。
比如：
The window is in the wall.
墻上有扇窗戶。
There is a hole in the wall.
墻上有個(gè)洞。
On里面的字母O就像一個(gè)時(shí)鐘，
時(shí)鐘是掛在墻表面上的，
所以在墻表面上要用on the wall。
比如：
The clock is on the wall.
鐘在墻上。
A picture of flowers hung on the wall.
墻上掛著一張花卉的圖畫。
