卡卡英語 第458期:A Slip of the tongue到底是什么意思呢
曾經(jīng)聽過一個(gè)很有趣的小故事，古時(shí)有個(gè)大臣的手和腳還有舌頭某一天忽然爭吵起來。
手說：“我才是最重要的，主人每天小到起床、穿衣、吃飯、寫字都需要我，我的功勞是最大的。”腳聽了不服氣，便說：“主人要是沒有我，每天都沒有辦法行走，沒有我，主人哪都別想去。”這時(shí)候，舌頭站出來說：“你們這樣爭好無趣哦！”
手和腳一聽嘴這樣說，便聯(lián)合起來對(duì)付舌頭：“你這個(gè)好吃懶做的東西，每天除了說廢話就是吃東西！你怎么可以和我們比呢！”
這時(shí)，舌頭不緊不慢的說：“明天我就讓你們知道我的厲害！”
第二天，大臣去上早朝，朝間，舌頭故意說錯(cuò)了話，按照朝廷律法是要斬手?jǐn)啬_的，這時(shí)手和腳都瑟瑟發(fā)抖的求饒。于是舌頭說了另外一番話，不僅使得龍顏大悅，而且還巧妙的化解了這次危機(jī)。
這個(gè)小故事雖然看起來荒誕，但不能否認(rèn)的是，口才對(duì)一個(gè)人的重要性。會(huì)說話的人，總會(huì)順風(fēng)順?biāo)?，不?huì)說話的人，處處碰壁。今天我們來學(xué)一個(gè)英語俚語，slip of the tongue，直譯過來是舌頭滑了一跤。那它究竟是什么意思呢？

Origin 俚語起源：
A slip of the pen was first reported to be used in the 1650s by a British man. He'd written a letter professing his unending love for Lady Catherine, his love interest. On opening the letter, she saw that he'd signed off the letter with the words "Within Love" instead of "With Love". When Lady Catherine related this to him days later, he'd laughed and said, "Oh, it was just a slip of the pen." Those around loved the expression and it caught on, and years later, around 1725, its sister phrase a slip of the tongue began to become more popular, as people also made mistakes while speaking not just while writing.
1650年代英國人首次使用 “A slip of the pen”。他寫了一封信，表達(dá)他對(duì)愛慕對(duì)象Lady Catherine無限的愛。在打開信時(shí)，她看到他在信的末尾用了“在愛里”的字眼而不是“充滿愛”。幾天后，當(dāng)Lady Catherine把這件事告訴他時(shí)，他笑了起來，說：“哦，那只是筆誤。”人們很喜歡這個(gè)表達(dá)，這個(gè)俚語便流行起來。幾年后，大約1725年的時(shí)候，它的姊妹篇“口誤”開始變得越來越流行，因?yàn)槿藗儾恢乖趯懽鞯臅r(shí)候犯錯(cuò)，說話時(shí)候也會(huì)。
Meaning：
1.an error in speaking in which the speaker says something unintentionally（不小心的口誤）
2.an unintentional mistake in one's writing, such as incorrect spelling, choice of words, or meaning（不小心的筆誤，比如拼寫，用詞及表達(dá)的意思等）
