Recently,a team of astronomers led by physicist Shelley Wright of the University of California,San Diego is deploying a pair of telescopes,hoping to continuously search for intelligent life signals from our galaxy in the night sky.

最近，由圣地亞哥加利福尼亞大學(xué)物理學(xué)家雪萊·賴特領(lǐng)導(dǎo)的天文學(xué)家小組正在部署一對望遠鏡，希望能在夜空中不斷搜索來自我們銀河系的智能生命信號。

According to researchers,the project is called PANOSETI(Panoramic Search for Extraterrestrial Civilizations),and it is expected to install hundreds of telescopes.If the final assembly is completed,the project will become the first dedicated observatory that can continuously search for optical or infrared signals.The two telescopes deployed this time will provide astronomers with a new window to understand the universe on a nanosecond time scale.

據(jù)研究人員稱，這一項目被稱為全景搜索(panosetti)，預(yù)計將安裝數(shù)百架望遠鏡。如果最終組裝完成，該項目將成為第一個能夠連續(xù)搜索光學(xué)或紅外信號的專用天文臺。這次部署的兩臺望遠鏡將為天文學(xué)家提供一個新的窗口，以納秒級了解宇宙。

This pulse signal that occurs on the nanosecond to second time scale may come from human activities,such as alien communications;it may also come from astrophysical phenomena,such as fast radio pulses."Signals from advanced civilizations may be rare and short-lived,so long-term observations of large areas of the sky are required,"the researchers said.
