Technology firm Byte Dance confirmed its news app Jinri Toutiao, meaning today's headlines in Chinese, has secured a third-round financing of $100 million, valuing the company at over 500 million US dollars.

Other news media have also questioned Jinri Toutiao whether or not it's justified in profiting by using their news content.
