A Spanish pop star died after she was injured in a freak accident with the special effects on stage, according to reports.

Joana Sainz, 30, was performing Saturday night with the group Super Hollywood Orchestra when a pyrotechnic device exploded at a festival in Las Berlanas, local outlet El Norte de Castilla reported.

Footage of the incident showed the 15-member group dancing on stage before the explosion abruptly ended the performance.
