What's up是美語中一個非常常用的句子，有兩個主要用法。一，表示詢問別人有什么事；二，作為問候語，相當于how are you，表示詢問對方的近況，有時也相當于Hi或者Hello.

A: We're going on an outdoor expedition next weekend. Would you like to join us?

下周末我們要去戶外探險，你想加入嗎？

expedition表示“（以探險為目的的）有組織的旅行”

你這句話指什么意思？

What do you mean表示“你什么意思”？在口語中因為語氣的不同而有不同的含義。一，表示對對方的話會行為不理解；二，表示反問對方，對對方的話和行為生氣。

B: Well, we got a big order. All the people are busy with this recently, so maybe we have to work overtime.

是這樣的，我們公司接了一個大的訂單，最近所有的人員都在忙于此事，因此我們可能要加班。

A: Well, the job matters. When can you fix the time? We are counting the numbers.

好吧，工作重要，那你什么時候能確定呢？我們正在統(tǒng)計人數(shù)。

fix除了表示“修”，比如：fix the computer修電腦；還可以表示“確定（時間；日期；價格；政策等）”，fix a time表示“確定時間”。

A: Six if you're in. We plan to invite ten persons in.
