　　難句類型：復雜修飾、插入語、倒裝

　　解釋：第一個插入語however deficient 中的however在此不是轉折連詞，而是副詞，等于no matterhow，但是因為后面出現(xiàn)了no matter how，而作者又追求語言表述的多樣性，所以作者在此使用了however deficient這樣較為少見的(但在GRE考試中多見)的語言。

　　盡管本句的插入語較多，第二個插入語很長，但是本句的真正難點在倒裝上。破折號后面的部分是主句賓語的同位語從句，此從句中固定搭配bring A to B被倒裝成了bring to BA。如果把這句話恢復成正常語序，則是it brings people who, no matter how legitimately they have earned their materiall rewards, often lask those other qualities that evoke affection or admiration to predominant positionsin a society。很明顯，這樣的語序會顯得頭重腳輕。
