美文欣賞：永遠(yuǎn)謙卑，永遠(yuǎn)饑渴（雙語(yǔ)）

I just went through a very tough time of my life.

我剛剛經(jīng)歷了人生中非常艱難的一段時(shí)期。

And the improbable unfolding of recent events has lead me to consider that no one thing is one thing only.

這段時(shí)間里各種看似不可能的事情接連發(fā)生，它們讓我不禁意識(shí)到：世上沒有什么事情是單純而片面的。

People keep defining what's familiar with new, ever-evolving meanings.

人們一直都在為熟悉的東西賦予新的、不斷演化的含義。

By doing so, we release ourselves from the expected, the familiar, into something unforeseen.

通過(guò)這樣做，我們將自己從那些司空見慣的東西中釋放出來(lái)，并投身到那些未曾被預(yù)見的事物中。

And it is in this unfamilar realm that we find new possibilities.

正是在這陌生的領(lǐng)域里我們才能找到新的可能性。

It is in the unknown that we find hope.

正是在未知之中，我們才能找到希望。

Some people kept learning hard for a time in their life, but then they decided that they've known what they need to know.

有些人在一生中曾經(jīng)刻苦地學(xué)習(xí)著，但后來(lái)他們卻認(rèn)為自己已經(jīng)知道了需要知道的一切。

They developed a mental immune system.

于是他們的思維里產(chǎn)生了一種免疫系統(tǒng)。

They refuse to accept anything which this system finds unsettling.

任何被這個(gè)系統(tǒng)認(rèn)定為不安因素的事物，都會(huì)被他們拒于千里之外。

Sometimes they even attack when they see such things.

有時(shí)候，當(dāng)他們看到這些事物的時(shí)候，他們甚至?xí)归_攻擊。

They have stopped evolving.

他們已經(jīng)停止進(jìn)化了。

And sometimes I even found myself doing similar things.

時(shí)不時(shí)地，我甚至發(fā)現(xiàn)自己也在做這樣的事情。

So I'm actually writing all this to make myself remember that the search for knowledge is an endless path.

所以，我現(xiàn)在寫下這一切是為了讓自己記住：尋求知識(shí)的道路是無(wú)窮無(wú)盡的。

Let's be each other's reminder, my friend.

讓我們來(lái)提醒彼此吧，我的朋友。

Keep learning.

不要停止學(xué)習(xí)。

Keep evolving.

不要停止進(jìn)化。

Keep being humble and hungry.

永遠(yuǎn)謙卑，永遠(yuǎn)保持對(duì)真知的饑渴。
