他們是怎么啦
Mr.Knott was a teacher.He taught in a big school inLondon.
諾特先生是一名教師。他在倫敦一所規(guī)模很大的學(xué)校里教書。
He lived a long way from the school,
他的住處離學(xué)校很遠(yuǎn)，
so he was usually quite tired when he got home.
所以到家時(shí)，他總覺得很累。
At nine o'clock one evening,when he was in bed,
有一天晚上九點(diǎn)，他已上床睡覺的時(shí)候。
the telephone rang in the hall of his small house,so he went down stairs,
大廳里傳來了電話鈴聲他走下樓
picked up the telephone and said,
去接電話說:
"This is White bridge 3165. Who's speaking, please?"
這是白橋3165號(hào)，請問您是誰?
"Watt,"a man answered.
"瓦特，"一個(gè)男人回答。
"What's your name, please?" Said Mr. Knott."Watt's my name,"was the answer
你叫什么名字，"諾特先生說。"瓦特是我的名字。"那個(gè)男人回答。
"Yes,I asked you that,What's your name?" Mr. Knott said again.
"是的，我問你叫什么名字?"諾特又問了一次。
"I told you.Watt's my name," Said the other man."Are you Jack Smith?"
"我告訴你了，瓦特是我的名字。"對方再一次回答。"你是杰克史密斯嗎?"
"No.I'm Knott," answered Mr.Knott.
"不，我是諾特。"諾特回答。
"Will you give your name,please?"Said Mr.Watt."Will Knott" answered Mr.Knott.
"能告訴我你的名字嗎?"瓦特先生問道。"好，諾特。"諾特先生答道。
Both Mr.Watt and Mr.Knott put their telephones down angrily and thought,
瓦特先生和諾特先生都很不高興地掛上了電話，并且都認(rèn)為對方：
"That is a stupid man!"
"真是一個(gè)蠢人!"
