This is one that, both my parents used to do andyour mam used to do.

It was me mam's favourite dessert..a rum baba.

Now, our trick with a rum baba is,we have some raisins which we soak or macerate in rum, sothat when you eat the rum baba,these curranty rum kind of bombs go off in your head and it'sgreat.

秘訣在于 我們有一些用朗姆酒泡好的葡萄干 這樣吃的時(shí)候 紅醋栗葡萄干會(huì)在腦海中跳躍

So first off, currants in pan.

首先把紅醋栗下鍋

A splash of water.

加點(diǎn)水

It's great cos they puff up.

This is a quick way of puffing up your currants.

And about four tablespoons of rum.

That's about four.

These are rum baba moulds.

Now, rum baba moulds are notorious for sticking,so you really need to grease them well.

模具可能會(huì)粘鍋 所以你需要仔細(xì)抹上油

Only butter will do cos the flavour of anything else will taint the baba.

只能用牛油 其他的會(huì)破壞其味道

And what was special about your mum's rum babas?

Add a packet of dried yeast, and a teaspoon full of salt.

You could of course use a blender or a hand whisk, you know, something mechanical or elsejust get in a Geordie.Good lard.
