注：該劇在Netflix上線時正值美國國務(wù)卿希拉里正式卸任，新任國務(wù)卿克里宣誓就職奧巴馬連任后，第一個記者招待會就明確表示希望原駐聯(lián)合國大使蘇珊·賴斯接替希拉里擔任新一任國務(wù)卿卻遭共和黨很多議員強烈反對，因為賴斯曾經(jīng)在2012年9月16號，接受5家電視臺訪問稱9月11日美國駐利比亞大使館被襲擊，是當?shù)厝罕娛就Э厮?，但后來媒體發(fā)現(xiàn)，其實那是一場有組織有預謀的恐怖襲擊，所以賴斯涉嫌誤導公眾，在被媒體和議員們猛烈攻擊后，賴斯對外宣傳放棄謀求國務(wù)卿職位，白宮重新選擇參議員克里作提名人，克里非常順利地被國會通過，與本劇情節(jié)不謀而合。本集片頭之后，跟弗蘭克吃飯的兩個人分別是議長，多數(shù)黨領(lǐng)袖，而弗蘭克是眾議院多數(shù)黨黨鞭。三人依次是眾議院多數(shù)黨一把手，二把手和三把手，而現(xiàn)實中，現(xiàn)在華盛頓眾議院是共和黨把持。
