Asking a Friend

Jacques: Hey Sara! Where are you?

Jacques：嘿，薩拉，你在哪?

Sara: Gosh...I’m still in the office!

Sara：唉，我還在辦公室

Jacques: But you told me you’d take a half-day!

Jacques：但你告訴過(guò)我你今天只上半天班

Sara: Yeah...but so many people are absent today. I was asked to stay over time!

Sara：是啊，但今天很多人沒(méi)來(lái)，我被要求多待一會(huì)

Jacques: Geez...Sorry Sarah. I’m responsible for this too. I couldn’t make it to work either.

Jacques：這樣啊，對(duì)不起，薩拉，這件事我也有責(zé)任。我也不能使它好轉(zhuǎn)起來(lái)

Sara: Hey, you know what? I think I can get out in an hour or so. Let me check with the boss!

Sara：嘿，你知道嗎?我認(rèn)為我可以在一小時(shí)左右出去，讓我和老板商量一下

Jacques: Alright then. We are waiting for you!

Jacques：這樣就好了，我們都在等你!

Late at Night

深夜

Britney: Jack, are you at work?

Britney：杰克，你還在工作嗎?

Jack: I’m at Mr. Miller’s. I’ll be a little late tonite.

Jack：我在米勒先生這，今夜我會(huì)晚一點(diǎn)

Britney: Mr. Miller’s? What are you doing there honey?

Britney：米勒先生那?親愛(ài)的你在那做什么?

Jack: It’s his son’s birthday today. He gave us a surprise party at his house!

Jack：今天是他兒子的生日，今天在他家舉辦了驚喜派對(duì)

Britney: Oh! Well, when do you think you can be back?

Britney：哦，好的，你認(rèn)為可以什么時(shí)候回家?

Jack: I want to get out of here as soon I can. I had to come because he’s my boss, you know. Maybe another 15 minutes.

Jack：我想盡可能離開(kāi)這兒，你知道的因?yàn)樗俏依习逦也胚^(guò)來(lái)的，可能多花十五分鐘

Britney: I will be waiting for you dear.

Britney：親愛(ài)的，我會(huì)等你的

Asking a Colleague

Sara: Hi Britney!

Sara：嗨，布蘭妮

Britney: Hello there! I was wondering if you were on leave today.

Britney：你好，我想知道你今天是否請(qǐng)假了

Sara: I am on my way, Britney. Just got late!

Sara：我正在路上，布蘭妮，就是晚了點(diǎn)

Britney: Traffic jam again?

Britney：又是交通堵塞?

Sara: Even worse! My car broke down.

Sara：比那更糟糕，我車拋錨了

Britney: Hey, that’s terrible! Do you need any help?

Britney：啊，太糟糕了，你需要什么幫助嗎?

Sara: No. I got it towed. I took a cab.

Sara：不了，我叫人把它拖走了，我乘了輛出租車

Britney: Well, see you soon then.

Britney：好的，到時(shí)見(jiàn)

Asking an Employee

Miller: Hello Britney.

Britney: Hello Mr. Miller.

Miller: Are you coming to the office today?

Miller：你今天來(lái)辦公室嗎?

Britney: Yes, I am. I’m almost there.

Britney：是的，當(dāng)然，我已經(jīng)快到了

Miller: You are so late today!

Miller：你今天很晚

Britney: I’m sorry Mr. Miller but I had some car trouble.

Britney：非常抱歉，米勒先生，我的車出了些毛病

Miller: I see. I didn’t know that.

Miller：我明白，我并不知道那情況

Britney: Don’t worry, Sir. I will be in the office in 10 minutes.

Britney：不必著急，先生。我十分鐘內(nèi)會(huì)到辦公室
