第十六章 主語 由there 引起的句子

　　1 .在由there 引起的句子中，主語通常放在謂語后面，謂語一般由動詞be 構(gòu)成，可用于各種時態(tài)：

　　Where there is a will , there is a way .

　　有志者事竟成。(一般現(xiàn)在時)

　　There were no TVs back then .

　　那時候沒有電視。(一般過去時)

　　They say there'll be a strong wind in the afternoon .

　　他們說今天下午有大風(fēng)。(一般將來時)

　　There has been a gentleman asking for you .

　　有一位先生曾來找你。(現(xiàn)在完成時)

　　主語和謂語在數(shù)上一致(見上例)。如果有幾個并列的主語，謂語和最近的那個主語一致：

　　There is only a table , four chairs and a bed in the room .

　　房里只有一張桌子，四把椅子和一張床。

　　2 .由there 引起的句子還有一些特殊結(jié)構(gòu)：

　　l )帶有情態(tài)動詞的句子：

　　There must be something wrong .準(zhǔn)是哪兒出了問題。

　　There may(might ) still be some vacant seats .或許還有空位子。

　　Theres should(aught to ) be a comma there .這兒應(yīng)有一個逗號。

　　2 )帶有不定式短語的句子：

　　There used to be a cinema here .過去這里有一家電影院。

　　There is sure to be a restaurant somewhere .哪兒準(zhǔn)有餐館。

　　There happened to be nobody in the room .恰好房里沒人。

　　3 )以live , come , stand , lie 等作謂語的句子：

　　Once there lived a fisherman in the village .這村子從前住著一位漁夫。

　　Then there came a knock at the door.接著聽到敲門聲。

　　There remained some problems to be solved .還剩一些問題需要解決。[注」here 也可引起類似句子：

　　Here is the menu .這兒是菜單。

　　Here are my address and phone number .這兒是我的地址和電話號碼。
