第十四章 介詞 介詞賓語（Prepositional object)

　　1.介詞不能在句中獨立充當一個成分，而需和一個名詞或與之相當?shù)恼Z法成分構成短語，在句中充當一個成分。和介詞一道構成短語的那個部分，稱為介詞賓語(也有人稱之為介詞補足語)。能作介詞賓語的有下面這些：

　　l)名詞：

　　There is a coffee table before the sofa.

　　長沙發(fā)前有一張茶幾。

　　Thanke for you help.

　　謝謝你的幫助。

　　2)代詞：

　　How much luggage can I take with me?

　　我能帶多少行李?

　　We did all this for nothing.

　　這些我們都白干了。

　　3)動名詞：

　　She is fond of surfing.

　　她喜歡沖浪運動。

　　Thanks for calling.

　　謝謝你打電話來。

　　4)由連接代(副)詞引起的從句或不定式短語：

　　I am thinking of how we can get there in time.

　　我在想我們如何能及時趕到那里。

　　He gave a lesson on how to improve soil.

　　他講了一堂如何改良土壤的課。

　　2.在介詞后可以跟下面幾種賓語：

　　1)另一個介詞短語：

　　A taxi came along from behind me.

　　從我后面開來一輛出租車。

　　She won't go home until after the exam.

　　她要到考試后才回家。

　　2)that引起的從句：

　　He is a good student except that he is occasionally careless.

　　他是一個好學生，只是偶爾有些粗心。

　　Men differs from brutes in that they can think and speak.

　　人不同于獸類的地方是他們能思維、能講話。

　　3)形容詞或副詞：

　　His pronunciation is far from perfect.

　　他的語音遠不是完美無疵的。

　　I heard someone calling me from below.

　　我聽見下面有人叫我。

　　4)復合結構：

　　I have no objection to Mr. Fu joining our group.

　　我對付老師參加我們組沒有意見。

　　They took a picture of us boating on the lake.

　　他們照了一張我們在湖上劃船的照片。
