　　1.表語(yǔ)有時(shí)由從句表示，特別是that引起的從句(that有時(shí)省略)：

　　The trouble with you is you won't listen.

　　你的問(wèn)題是不聽(tīng)別人的話。

　　My opinion is that you ought to go together.

　　我的意思是你們應(yīng)當(dāng)一道去。

　　My secret hope was that one day I should become an author

　　我暗中希望我有一天成為作家。

　　What surprised me was that she spoke English so well.

　　使我驚奇的是她的英語(yǔ)講得這么好。

　　His only worry was that she might do something desperate.

　　他唯一的憂慮是她可能做出不顧后果的事。

　　Sophia's idea was that they should lock up the house.

　　索菲亞的意見(jiàn)是他們應(yīng)把房子鎖上。

　　2.也有時(shí)可以是由連接代(副)詞或whether引起的從句：

　　The problem is who can be put in charge of the work.

　　問(wèn)題是能派誰(shuí)來(lái)負(fù)責(zé)這項(xiàng)工作。

　　That's where we differ.

　　這就是我們的分歧所在。

　　That's why I came round.

　　這就是我來(lái)的原因。

　　April is when the lilacs bloom.

　　四月是丁香花開(kāi)的季節(jié)。

　　The point is whether we ought to recommend him.

　　問(wèn)題是我們是否應(yīng)當(dāng)推薦他。

　　The question is what you are going to do next.

　　問(wèn)題是下一步你準(zhǔn)備怎么辦。

　　3.表語(yǔ)可以由關(guān)系代詞型的what引起：

　　That's what I ought to do.

　　這是我的本分(該做的事)。

　　That's exactly what I hope.

　　這正好是我希望的。

　　Power is what they are out for.

　　他們想謀求的是權(quán)力。

　　I want to be a teacher.That's what I want to be.

　　我想當(dāng)老師，這就是我的志愿。

　　Times aren't what they were.

　　時(shí)代不同了。
