突破英語口語練習：小詞大用之thing的實用表達！

別看thing很常見很簡單，其實它的用法有很多哦！
今天的小詞大用就來聊聊thing的用法！
 
1. things
財產；（個人的）所有物，用具；成套物品
Let me help you clear away the tea things (= cups, plates, etc. that are used for having tea).
我來幫你收拾茶具。
 
2. the real thing真事；真品，非贗品
The fire alarm goes off accidentally so often that when it's the real thing (= when it really does happen) nobody will take any notice.
火災報警器常常瞎響，到時候真的著火時發(fā)警報也沒有人會注意了。
 
3. a thing or two
一些事情；些許知識，一星半點
She thinks she knows everything about raising children, but I could tell her a thing or two (= some information she does not know).
她覺得自己對于養(yǎng)育孩子樣樣精通，不過我倒可以讓她見識一二。
 
4 .a close/near thing
幾乎發(fā)生的事
The car just missed the child but it was a very close thing.
汽車差點撞著小孩，就差那么一點點。
 
5. the thing is
問題是；要緊的是
The thing is, my parents like me to be home by ten o'clock.
問題是，我父母想要我10點前回家。
 
6. thingy
那個人，那個東西，那個玩意兒（用于記不清名稱時）
Can you pass me that thingy - you know, that clip thing for holding papers together.
你能把那個東西遞給我嗎——你知道的，那個把紙張別在一起的東西。
 
7. the done thing
禮貌，禮儀，禮節(jié)；規(guī)矩
Don't forget to shake hands - it's the done thing, you know.
別忘了握手——你知道，這是禮貌。
 
8. and another thing
再者，此外
And another thing, why didn't you tell me you were going out?
還有，當時你為什么不告訴我你要出去？
 
9. all things being equal
如果一切照常；如果一切順利
All things being equal, I'll be at home on Tuesday.
如果一切順利，我星期二就能回家。
 
10. for one thing
首先；一方面
"Why won't you come to New York with me?" "For one thing, I don't like flying, and for another, I can't afford it."
