[00:02.86]area like drama,in drama there are over
[00:06.50]attempts to work as a team,to develop these
[00:09.97]team skills that I've just touched on,so in
[00:13.16]that part of the curriculum you'd find it.
[00:15.58]If you were also go to physical education, again
[00:18.59]in physical education you will find the
[00:20.50]teachers trying to develop good interpersonal
[00:23.92]skills within groups, and to develop the team as
[00:27.45]an entity that's greater than the individual in
[00:30.41]order to actually win a game in an inter-team
[00:33.39]sport,for example.
[00:35.63]Why do you consider teamwork to be
[00:37.88]such a vital skill?
[00:39.83]We're very interested in equipping young people
[00:42.89]to play their role in adult life and part of
[00:46.12]that is in a workplace, and it is rare that
[00:48.62]anyone in a workplace work by themselves-
[00:51.41]they're always a member of a smaller or larger
[00:54.38]team and that requires some skills to be an
[00:57.92]effective and productive member of that team so
[01:02.19]the kind of skills that we're teaching in
[01:04.52]schools have application not only inside the
[01:07.32]standard structured education system,but they
[01:10.19]have direct application inside in a work
[01:13.50]environment outside
[01:14.41]and indeed in the social context outside.
