虛實篇 NO.5：

故知戰(zhàn)之地，知戰(zhàn)之日，則可千里而會戰(zhàn);

不知戰(zhàn)之地，不知戰(zhàn)日，則左不能救右，右不能救左，前不能救后，后不能救前，而況遠者數(shù)十里，近者數(shù)里乎!

以吾度之，越人之兵雖多，亦奚益于勝哉!

故曰：勝可為也。

敵雖眾，可使無斗。

這句啥意思：

所以，既預知與敵人交戰(zhàn)的地點，又預知交戰(zhàn)的時間，即使行軍千里也可以與敵人交戰(zhàn)。

不能預知與敵人交戰(zhàn)的地點，又不能預知交戰(zhàn)的時間，倉促遇敵，就會左軍不能救右軍，右軍不能救左軍，前軍不能救后軍，后軍不能救前軍，何況遠的相距十里，近的也有好幾里呢。

依我對吳國所作的分析，越國雖然兵多，但對他的勝利又有什么幫助呢?

所以說：勝利是可以創(chuàng)造的，

敵人雖然兵多，卻可以使敵人無法有效地參加戰(zhàn)斗。

英文這么說：

Knowing the place and the time of the coming battle,we may concentrate from the greatestdistances in order to fight.

But if neither time nor place be known,then the left wing will be impotent to succor the right,theright equally impotent to succor the left, the van unable to relieve the rear, or the rear tosupport the van.How much more so if the furthest portions of the army are anything under ahundred LI apart, and even the nearest are separated by several LI!

Though according to my estimate the soldiers of Yueh exceed our own in number, that shalladvantage them nothing in the matter of victory. I say then that victory can be achieved.

Though the enemy be stronger in numbers, we may prevent him from fighting. Scheme so asto discover his plans and the likelihood of their success.

《知戰(zhàn)之地，知戰(zhàn)之日》

“知戰(zhàn)之地，知戰(zhàn)之日”是說預先要了解與敵人交戰(zhàn)的時間和地點。大凡先到達戰(zhàn)地而等待敵人到來就沉穩(wěn)、安逸?；蛘哒f就是把對手調(diào)動到你所了解知道的領域，而且對手又不了解知道的領域這樣你就有優(yōu)勢，再加上你在這個領域早就有準備你的而對手沒有，你的優(yōu)勢就更強，你就更容易擊敗他。
